“Nyepi diri bajik, nya ia lawa..”

Those are the exact words came out from the mouth of a middle-aged woman said straight to the face of my friend and I, while we were hanging out at the village ‘warung’. We were both stunned by the accusation that we gone speechless!!

Motifff madah orang lawa???

I mean she doesn’t exactly ‘know’ us. It’s not like we hang around with her all the time when we have nothing else better to do! We only bump into each other a few times and that’s enough for her to judge us?? And by what, or which standard? Is it because we do not buy her groceries every month end?!

For god sake!

And the best part is, just after the sarcasm, she dared to ask and BEGGED my friend to treat her 4 cans of beer!

Shameless shit!

Human Nature?

Is it human nature? Or could that be the most acceptable excuse to be not-so-nice sometimes?

It is so easy to see and single out all the negative qualities and weaknesses in people around us and things we see each day. Somehow we are almost blinded by negative energy to actually see and appreciate the beauty and kindness of people and things that surround us.
I believe this happen to everyone at one time or another. The sense of appreciation and gratefulness always come so late that when we lost someone or something, everyone has only nice things to say about it.

Saying nice things to wrap up all the bitterness and regrets that one have.

Being Messenger

Before my current job, I've always been doing jobs that deliver information to a mass audience.... My previous job required me to deliver and enhance the knowledge of the mass. Can't say it was  really teaching but they do gain some new info. Furthermore, they are a bunch of young adult who're capable of reading and getting information elsewhere apart from a few sessions with me.

Now that I am really in the 'teaching' line, I do feel the difference between teaching and delivering information. The kids are much much younger this time around than my mass last time. So, yes I guess they are having much more empty spaces in their heads to store the knowledge given. Or so I thought!
